Piper Middle School Administration
Dr. Leffert started his teaching journey at Piper High School and is now serving as the Principal at Piper Middle School. Before his current role, he was the principal at Robinson Middle School in Topeka, Kansas.
Mr. Leffert obtained his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Washburn University and later pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum & Teaching from the University of Kansas. He also holds a second Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University. Presently, Mr. Leffert is a Doctoral Candidate with a focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education at the University of Illinois.
Dr. Mapp, the current Assistant Principal/Athletics & Activities Director at Piper Middle School, has a over a decade of experience in the education field. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology Education and has pursued advanced degrees from Pittsburg State University and Concordia University Chicago.
Before transitioning to an administrative role, Dr. Mapp taught various science courses at multiple schools and coached cross country and track teams, including at the collegiate level. He is married to Ramey Mapp, a kindergarten teacher at Piper Prairie Elementary School.
Dr. Paulakovich is embarking on her third year as assistant principal at Piper Middle School and her 21st year in education. Prior to joining the Piper School District, she held various roles including Director for Learning Services, Assistant Director for Learning Services, Instructional Coach, and teacher for 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 12th grade English.
She recently achieved her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Baker University. Additionally, she possesses a Masters in Curriculum Leadership from Emporia State and a Bachelors in Secondary Education from UMKC.
A lifelong resident of Wyandotte County, Dr. Paulakovich and her husband have been married for 18 years.
Outside of her professional responsibilities at PMS, she enjoys decorating cakes, reading, spending time with her family, gardening, and has a passion for everything related to Mickey Mouse. With a collection of over 100 Mickey Mouse items, she made her first visit to Disney at the age of 41.
Being dedicated to continuous learning, she finds joy in reading and acquiring knowledge. Dr. Paulakovich is committed to assisting families, students, and staff in all aspects of education and is always willing to offer her support. Feel free to connect with her for any assistance you may need.
