Piper Middle School Administration
Tim Leffert - Principal
Mr. Leffert started his teaching journey at Piper High School and is now serving as the Principal at Piper Middle School. Before his current role, he was the principal at Robinson Middle School in Topeka, Kansas.
Mr. Leffert obtained his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Washburn University and later pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum & Teaching from the University of Kansas. He also holds a second Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Emporia State University. Presently, Mr. Leffert is a Doctoral Candidate with a focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Education at the University of Illinois.
Dr Taylor Mapp -
Buccaneer Assistant Principal
Dr. Mapp, the current Assistant Principal/Athletics & Activities Director at Piper Middle School, has an over a decade of experience in the education field. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology Education and has pursued advanced degrees from Pittsburg State University and Concordia University Chicago.
Before transitioning to an administrative role, Dr. Mapp taught various science courses at multiple schools and coached cross country and track teams, including at the collegiate level. He is married to Ramey Mapp, a kindergarten teacher at Piper Prairie Elementary School.
Laura Porras -
Swashbuckler Assistant Principal
Ms. Porras serves as the Swashbuckler Team Administrator at Piper Middle School. She has served Piper School District at both Piper Prairie and Piper Creek Elementary Schools as an Assistant Principal previously. Before becoming an administrator in Piper, she taught in KCK, Leavenworth and Shawnee Mission School Districts at both the elementary and middle school levels. She provides more than 25 years of experience in public education in the Kansas City area.
